Staff Sgt. Daniel Fernandez was born July 14, 1969. He was a 17-year Marine veteran. His final assignment was a Marine recruiter in North Carolina.
“The character strengths that were most prevalent in Daniel’s life were love, fairness, and humor.” He loved his children more than anything and preferred to hang out with his family than with his friends. He was known for getting the job done but also always making jokes, even if they weren’t funny.
Daniel passed away August 3, 2012 when he took his own life due to PTSD. He is survived by his wife Domenica, and three children. We were honored to meet Domenica in 2018 at our Survivors of Heroes Retreat.
