First Lieutenant Curtis Berenguer was born on November 27, 1992 in Grosse Pointe, Michigan. He graduated from high school in 2010 and pursued his dream of becoming a fighter pilot at the United States Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs, where he graduated with a degree in systems engineering in 2014 with honors. He was accepted into the Euro-NATO Joint Jet Pilot Training program at Sheppard Air Force Base in Wichita Falls, Texas, where he married Colleen Walker on May 23, 2015. Colleen and Curt were stationed at Seymour Johnson Air Force Base in Goldsboro, North Carolina, where he completed additional training to become an F-15E pilot. They were then stationed at Mountain Home Air Force Base in Mountain Home, Idaho, where he passed away on December 3, 2017. Curt was a mission-qualified Strike Eagle pilot and had just been accepted into a master's program at Embry Riddle, where he planned to study aviation operations. He had an unmatched passion for life and enjoyed playing guitar, traveling, scuba diving, and, above all else, spending time with his family and friends. His memory lives on through his wife Colleen, brother Collin, sister Allyson, and parents Janet and Gilbert.
